The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Why So Sad combines comfort with iconic design for both skateboarding and everyday wear. This edition supports the mission of the John Rattray Foundation Why So Sad, skateboarder and mental health activist. The Why So Sad campaign aims to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention, and to prioritize sports as a daily habit that is good for the body and soul. Created in collaboration with John Rattray, the model focuses on positivity and well-being. The shoes are distinguished by a calming navy and blue upper and an optimistic graphic of a funny chicken on a skateboard embroidered on the lateral heel - The Predatory Bird, one of Rattray's most recognizable icons, appearing on his previous merch.
The Nike Dunk Low SB sneakers feature a leather upper and a white Fat-style SB lacing system. The translucent rubber outsole and Zoom Air unit inside provide grip and cushioning for both skateboarding and everyday wear. The upper is made of blue leather and navy suede, and the addition of embroidered graphics make it an extremely attractive model with a deep message and purpose. An interesting concept is the peeling of the paint and the appearance of yellow. This is a reference to the process that, according to Rattray, " we go through when we face emotional challenges and the work we have to do to give ourselves a chance at happiness ." Red accents on the heel with the '?' sign and on the tongue with the inscription WHY SO SAD are complemented.
